2010 – Year of Turquoise?

The Pantone results are out for 2010 and they predict that 2010 will be all about turquoise. “It is believed to be a protective talisman, a color of deep compassion and healing, and a color of faith and truth, inspired by water and sky. Through years of color word-association studies, we also find that Turquoise represents an escape to many – taking them to a tropical paradise that is pleasant and inviting, even if only a fantasy.” (From Pantone). I am a fan of turquoise. I have it in my living room right now as an accent color. It is a calming color, which is something that I’m in need of after a long weekend of being sick and the weather being miserable. Do you think Turquoise will only continue to grow in popularity this year or is Pantone behind on their color prediction and should Turquoise have been the color of the year in 2009 instead of Mimosa? What are your thoughts?

I bet your house looks lovely with the turquoise! I hope it doesn’t fade from its glory anytime soon. It’s such a lovely color and calming and soothing. I can’t wait to sell my house and then I’ll probably paint one of my new rooms in some shade of turquoise. :-)
