The Pantone results are out for 2010 and they predict that 2010 will be all about turquoise. “It is believed to be a protective talisman, a color of deep compassion and healing, and a color of faith and truth, inspired by water and sky. Through years of color word-association studies, we also find that Turquoise represents an escape to many – taking them to a tropical paradise that is pleasant and inviting, even if only a fantasy.” (From Pantone). I am a fan of turquoise. I have it in my living room right now as an accent color. It is a calming color, which is something that I’m in need of after a long weekend of being sick and the weather being miserable. Do you think Turquoise will only continue to grow in popularity this year or is Pantone behind on their color prediction and should Turquoise have been the color of the year in 2009 instead of Mimosa? What are your thoughts?
If you’re not a fan of the darker turquoise, you can always lighten it up a little bit.

Or if you don’t want to commit yet to painting your walls turquoise, how about some accents?

oh my oh my! i have always loved turquoise. even as a child. and now i’ve been brave enough to use it my home, painting my bedroom light aqua, a powder room and an accent wall in my office. i wonder how long til it fades from glory? i hope not, because it is a glorious pure delightful color!! thanks for sharing this great news!
I bet your house looks lovely with the turquoise! I hope it doesn’t fade from its glory anytime soon. It’s such a lovely color and calming and soothing. I can’t wait to sell my house and then I’ll probably paint one of my new rooms in some shade of turquoise.
I was excited that Pantone announced Turquoise as the color of the year for 2010. I have always been more attracted to the blues and greens and I use turquoise as an accent color in my living room.
Have you seen the House of Turquoise blog? She has tons of neat ideas over there.

Hi Ivy! I was excited too! I have seen the House of Turquoise blog and I’m always amazed how she can find so much turquoise. She does have a lot of great ideas. Thanks for stopping by!
