New Etsy Listing

I posted a new Etsy listing today. It’s a picture I took in New York City last year. When I took it, I did the color focus just trying to get the yellow taxis but it also got the green trees. The yellow didn’t turn out as bright as I would have liked so I had to do a little more work to get it where I wanted to. But I am very pleased with the finished product. I think the bright yellow pops on the black and white and creates an interesting dimension.

Last year was the first time I have ever visited New York City and my goal was to visit everything I could. So I created a long list of all the ‘must visit’ and I made sure I checked everything off. It was a whirl-wind trip and we were exhausted at the end of every day. Of course the rain didn’t help the first two days. But I fell in love with the city and really want to go back. Now I know where to go back to spend more time. Of course we had our interesting experiences getting lost on the subway. Anyways, here’s my newest listing in Etsy. To iPad or not?

I’m sure everyone has seen the Apple iPad by now. I’ve always been a fan of the tablet PC. When I worked at the state (a long time ago), we got tablet PCs for our job. And I thought they were the coolest thing. They were great for our job because we were out on audits on a lot and they were easy to use to take notes on, etc. I was really pleased with them. On top of that, I am an Apple fan. I do own a MacBook (which I’m typing on now), an iPhone, and several versions of the iPod. In the last 24 hours I’ve read many articles about the iPad trying to figure out whether it’s something I’m going to purchase or not when it comes out in April. Honestly, I probably will. I had been thinking of purchasing a Kindle (prior to this coming out) and the iPad will beat the Kindle by a landslide. But at the same time, it does seem like a giant iPod. It’s very cool though at 1.5 lb and .5 inch thin. Can you imagine just throwing this in your purse to travel with? No more bulky computer. I need that space for more clothes! What are your thoughts on the iPad. BTW, I hate the name.

Etsy Purchases

So staying home sick and the January blues got the better of me yesterday on Etsy and I made a few purchases. Would you like to see what I bought?

Well I needed a monthly calender for work, and you know my love of photography so I found this one. Aren’t the photos just beautiful? I think they will cheer up my desk quite nicely. I got the calender from NDT Photo.

And here’s what I finally decided on from The Nebulous Kingdom. There’s just something about her eye that makes me feel like she’s speaking to me. Also I like the title, Papillions Bleus. Papillion meaning “butterfly”but my mom has two papillion dogs that are really cute (and spoiled rotten for the record. Sorry Mom! )

Lastly, I have been waitly patiently for this one to come back out for sale. I’m a coffee addict. Now I just need a place to hang all these pictures! This print comes from JenniferAmos also known as MadeByGirl.

I can’t wait until they all come! It’ll be like Christmas and give me something to look forward to this week and next.

January Blues

Are we nice and relaxed from our trip to the beach yesterday? But we’re back to the cold weather and the January blues. Not all blues are bad though – what if your rooms were painted or had these blues accents? Would they make your January blues a little easier?

How was your weekend? Mine ended up being pretty busy. I did get some pretty new fabric for one of my quilts I’m working on. I think I mentioned on Friday that the weather in Atlanta hasn’t been very warm. So between that and watching too much Australian Open, we are taking a trip to a beach house in Australia. We are going to pretend we are warm, relaxed and just enjoying life. Here’s the place I picked for us to stay this time. It’s called Mystique Beach House and yes, I only find beach houses right on the beach. Why else go?
