Happy Friday!

Hello! How has your week been? Mine has been busy! I’m looking forward to a somewhat down weekend. I have some Art Institute homework to do and then a lot of Blogging Your Way Homework to do. I’m going to try and get out and play some tennis, if the weather improves. How are those of you up north surviving the snow? I’m so ready for the spring! The first sign of Spring to me is the crocus – so hopefully we’ll be seeing some of these soon!

Job Thoughts

Based on some of the feedback from the survey, it seemed that there was some interest in my job and how it relates to Interior Design. Since it’s late, I won’t go too much into depth about my job but I’ll start with one main thing. I am in the Technology field, but I also work a lot with auditors and customers. I am the point of contact for the auditors and customers and tell them all about our IT Security. So sometimes it’s like a sales job and sometimes it’s like a customer relations job. I have to sell our Security to ensure that customer is comfortable with it because if they are not, they’re not going to buy our products. Sometimes customers are very difficult and sometimes they’re not. I have always gotten great feedback on my work with customers. And I was thinking the other day how this can easily translate to the Interior Design field when I get there. Customers will be my life and they will not all be easy, some will be difficult and want to change their mind several times. Some will be demanding and have tight time schedules. But when I think of my past experience at my current job, I feel better that I can handle that part of it. So just some thoughts from me tonight.

Purple Heaven in Atlanta

Before I start my post for the day, I just want to say that my posting may be a little more sporadic now that classes have started. The first few days have been a little more difficult than I imaged – just trying to figure out what needed to be done, etc. But hopefully once I get into the swing of things, I can be on here regularly again. I really miss it! I’m going to try my best to post at least 3 times a week. And I will keep you updated on my school progress. My first class is Computer Literacy, which I thought would be a piece of cake! Apparently not! Haha.

So onto my post for today. I was browsing the Atlanta Home and Lifestyle magazine and I came across this condo and all the purple caught my eye. Personally I’ve been thinking of doing a room in purple (again when I get a house). So this needless to say, I had to save these images to my Inspiration Folder and thought I would share with you. I love that the designer, Bob Brown, painted the ceiling the same color and he kept the curtains in the same color to not distract the eye from the wonderful Atlanta skyline. I also like the Ikat pillows on the green chairs and that he carried the purple theme into the master bedroom with the throw pillows, cushions and curtains. What about you? Are you a fan of purple?

I hope you all had a nice week! I can’t believe the weekend is here already. The week did fly by, I thought. What do you have going on this weekend? I have a busy weekend ahead BUT it’s suppose to be nice weather finally!!! I have my first tennis match of the season tomorrow morning. We’ll see how it goes. I haven’t played since the fall so my expectations aren’t too high. Then we have someone coming to look at the house tomorrow afternoon and then have an Open House on Sunday afternoon. Our last few Open Houses haven’t been too successful, obviously, so fingers crossed for this one. I’m really hoping the nice weather will bring people out. And then classes started on Thursday so I have a lot of reading and homework to do for that and I’m already behind on my blogging class homework. On top of that, lots of errands, an overnight baby sitting job and I’m currently cat sitting (well the cat is sitting on me now. LOL) . Phew! I’ll be tired by the time this weekend is done! So what’s on your agenda this weekend? Whatever it is, I hope it’s a great one! See you on Monday!!

I saw this the other day and thought it was the cutest thing. You know my addiction with chocolate but these are calorie free! They’re small and come in many colors. They’d look adorable sitting on your desk collecting your CDs. You can find them here. I just wish they had pink.

St. Augustine, Florida Trip

As I mentioned yesterday, Hubby and I went to St Augustine, FL for a long weekend trip. We both had Presidents day off, so it was a nice getaway. The weather was a little warmer than here but not too much! I took a lot of pictures and tried to narrow it down to my favorites but it was hard but here are the top ones. Hope you enjoy!

The first day we wandered around Historic Downtown St. Augustine and saw the neatest water wheel:

A break for a latte and pumpkin muffin. I couldn’t resist taking a picture of the heart. Isn’t it adorable?!? But then so is my hubby Of course, I had to get a pic with the latte but I was afraid of spilling it.

Historic St. Augustine

Okay, I saw this Cinderella Carriage and I chased it around the square until I could get a good shot of it. (Good shot meaning without cars. They were doing construction on the bridge, so I apologize for the background.) I really wanted to ride in it. Wouldn’t that be perfect for a romantic night ride? It was really pretty!

There’s an old fort downtown historic St. Augustine, so we went and saw that. It was pretty neat to walk around the outside. I’m standing in the moat area.

On our last day, we went to the Lighthouse in St. Augustine. We climbed all the way to the top! 219 stairs! There was a lot of neat history there and a nice place to tour.

Back to downtown St. Augustine, this was in a Courtyard. Isn’t it gorgeous? There were huge fish in the water.

Also in the Courtyard was this piece by Frederick Hart. It caught my eye and I couldn’t leave until I got a picture of it.

Lastly, the Flagler Memorial Presbyterian Church was beautiful. I could see the dome around the city and needed to see it up close.

Winter Wonderland in Atlanta

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Sorry for missing you on Friday. It was crazy here weather wise and then we headed out of town to St. Augustine, FL after work. We got lots of snow on Friday! They were calling for 1-4 inches and when I came home for lunch there was nothing in the air, and when I left to go back to work, the flurries had started. It came down heavy and they let us out of work at 3 since everyone panics down here. I grew up in Michigan, so snow reminds me of growing up and home. So it was nice to see and take some pictures of. I’ve uploaded a few for you to look at and enjoy. The rest of the weekend was nice – the weather was pretty decent in Florida. A little warmer than Atlanta. Of course it was in the 60s today when we left. But I have plenty of pictures from our trip and I’ll share more of those tomorrow! But first, here’s the snow!

Happy Thursday to all! One day closer to Friday! First of all, I just wanted to thank Brigitte at Covet, who yesterday gave me the sweetest shout out. By the time I was done reading it, I admit, I was grinning ear from ear and slightly teary eyed. I have enjoyed getting to know Brigitte through our blogs and then through our Blogging Your Way e-class. She’s so sweet and has been very supportive of my blog. Dining Room Dreams

Since I don’t have a dining room of my own, I’m meant to dream of one. Here are some of my favorites I’ve collected over the months. Is your dining room more formal or relaxed? Or if you don’t have one, like me, what do you dream of? I tend to go towards more formal dining room but want something people will feel comfortable in. LOL. Is that possible? But I definitely want a nice chandelier!!
