I am avid reader but I don’t have as much time to read as I’d like. But I still collect books and add them to my collection to read. So after a great Blogging Your Way class, I went out and bought a few books that were recommended. I added these to my great collection.
So here are the top 5 that I’m in the process of reading now or will be reading soon. Keep in mind, I am a business person at heart, so there are some business books mixed in.
1. I’m almost 3/4 through book and it’s been excellent. A good resource for job hunting or career changing.
2. I have always been fascinated by personalities, how they work together and what my personality is, etc. So I can’t wait to dig into this book more. A book recommended by Holly from our Blogging Your Way e-class. In case you’re wondering, I took a free personality test and I am an ISTP.
3. I’m halfway through this one too. It’s also excellent! A great way for beginner designers or “at home” designers to learn the basics. I’ve learned so much already from her. A great guide.
4. Something that I always need help doing.
5. Being the only girl in a department full of men, I’m always looking for ways to stand up for myself and just making myself heard. It’s a challenge working with all men sometimes. So this book has been good helping me learn some techniques to make myself heard.
Other books in the queue:
10-10-10: A Fast and Powerful Way to Get Unstuck in Love, at Work, and with Your Family by Suzy Welch
The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey
Nikon D5000 Digital Field Guild by J. Dennis Thomas
And now thanks to Anna over at Be Healthy, Be Well, Be Inspired I went over to the Alkaline Sisters blog and started reading their blog and now I want to read Healthy at 100 and The pH Miracle: Balance Your Diet, Reclaim Your Health.
So now that I’ve written all that, I’ve decided I need to carve out sometime just to read on a regular basis.
What about you? What are you reading right now? Any good recommendations for me to add to my list?

Lori, You are so cute. Thanks for mentioning me. I want to read Robert Young’s pH miracle book too and Stephen Covey’s books. But, like you am reading way too many books at the same time. I didn’t realize that Holly had a reading list. I must have missed that.

If you like personality, you should look at the Big Five personality traits. It’s what we use in research…

Lori, how weird is this?…I just went to lunch with some co-workers and we were all talking about how we love reading personality type books! We must be on the same wave-length

I love the seven habits and highly recommend it. It’s what inspired me to write (and eventually post) my personal mission statement.
I also recommend Pitch Like a Girl, which will help you tailor your pitches to your audience as you start your interior design business.
And The Boss of You is another fantastic book.

Thanks Brigitte for the suggestions! I will add those to my list! You’re the one that made me pick up seven habits again. I’ve had it around for awhile but hadn’t read it but you’ve inspired me to read it.
Really Piper? That is so funny! We must be!! Lol!
Thanks Mike. Any certain book?
Haha, no problem Anna. I don’t think it was a list in particular but more just mentioned them in one of her classes. Probably the first week or two.
