Cuteness: Time with My Baby Niece

Yes, I have a lot of nieces. 7 total. 1 nephew. They are all on my husband’s side, except this baby. She’s my baby bro’s. I don’t know when I told him he could go around getting married and have a baby, but he did it anyways. (Not like he ever listened to me!)

One of my favorite things at Christmas was being able to spend so much time with her – she was just about 12 weeks in these pictures. She has the most adorable smile and just makes me melt. I miss her already.

(Sorry I hate the coloring on the above one because the flash was used, but it’s too cute not to post! She makes me laugh just looking at this picture. She made me laugh when I was there too. Lol.)

Cooking with Lori

I actually cooked tonight! It’s part of my New Year Intention to eat better and treat my body better. Usually my husband is the cook but I was headed to Whole Food anyways, to get spinach to try this Green Monster recipe. So I decided to try and pick a few healthier recipes to try and get the ingredients while I was there. This is the one I tried tonight – Citrus Bow Tie Pasta. I made a few adjustments – ie, leaving out the tomatoes and onions. Haha. I realized as I was driving there that I don’t think my husband likes avocado (a main ingredient) and then when I was getting the stuff I realized I don’t think he likes Feta Cheese (yes, another main ingredient). Ha, see how little I cook! Anyways, he said I could still try it and he picked out all the avocados. It turned out pretty good. I’d try it again but it was a lot for the two of us – I have some ready for lunch tomorrow in my to-go pack. Haha.

It probably would have been a little prettier if I had red tomatoes in there. But I don’t do red veggies. Ha.

I’m proud of myself at this moment (yes, patting myself on the back) but it won’t last long. I have my work-out clothes laid out to meet my friend at the gym at 6:30 in the morning. I have my work clothes/essentials packed (I’m always afraid I’m going to miss something!). Lunch is packed (leftovers of course!) along with some healthy snacks. Then I have the stuff I need for my smoothie laid out so I can get it easily. I’m not a morning person and it’ll take me 30 mins to get there. So now I have to do this on a regular basis. Now the problem comes in – I should be asleep right now and I’m blogging! And I’ll probably check Twitter one more time before I go to bed. Lol I’m addicted. Ok, please cheer me on with this new workout/eating routine. I need the help!
