Hello and Happy Friday! Am I the only one who cannot believe it’s the last day of April? I mean seriously where has the month and year gone? Tomorrow is May? Wow.
Today’s rambling probably won’t be too long because I feel like it’s been a week long rambling session.
But I did have one thing I wanted to talk about. BUT before I go there – I wanted to show you that I received Piper’s (from One Sydney Road) GIVEAWAY in the mail today. I won a beautiful bracelet from Hiedi Towslee and to top it off – it has pink in it! Needless to say, I was very excited to hear that I won and more excited to receive it today! So thank you so much Piper and Hiedi! It’s beautiful!!! Please check out Hiedi’s Etsy site as she has other beautiful jewelry there! And if you haven’t seen Piper’s good news yet – go read her blog today!
So I wanted to apologize as I feel like my posting the last few weeks has been all over the last few weeks. But I want to be honest with you because I’m struggling a little bit with the direction of where I want to go with my blog. I love design and want to showcase design and houses but I want to go beyond that too. I want to discuss business and starting a business as that is eventually my dream. I want to discuss fitness and detoxing and skincare and travel, etc. So I am just trying to find my niche right now I guess. I want to be me but I don’t want to run off readers because I’m boring them.
I want to have my happy community as I feel like I’ve gotten to know quite a few of you already and want to get to know you more. And I know just showcasing design isn’t going to do it. So that’s where I’m at right now, so I’m sorry for the variety of posts lately but they’ve meant a lot to me and maybe that’s the new direction. But I’m not sure yet. So please bear with me as I try to find that happy medium. Do you have any thoughts? Ideas? Feedback? What do you want to see, my faithful ChicGeek readers?
Have an awesome weekend!

The bracelet looks really great on you! I love it! I know what you mean about the niche of your blog. I feel like I am all over the place with my blog topics. I think what is important is being authentic. I love hearing what you are doing on a weekly basis. I feel that is how I am getting to know you. I wish I could do that but then I wouldn’t have time to blog. I would like to hear your story about starting an Etsy shop and what you learned, what worked, etc. And as you get started on your business, would like to hear more about the process. I am struggling also with what I want to do with my life. And maybe talk about your desire to why you want to move from IT to design. I am actually in the same boat. I am struggling to see if I want to stay in IT and move back into the nursing field.

Oh, it looks BEAUTIFUL on you!! Glad you like it
I think you should follow your heart and talk exactly about what you’re going through and what you’re interested in. I think it can be scary but I know people relate to that – I know I do – I have a lot of interests so sometimes I feel like I’m all over the place. So I know what you mean – and I think there’s probably lots of us like that! So just be true to who you are, talk about your dreams and your interests because we’d all love to hear about it!!

As you know, I completely relate to what you’re saying. I’m trying to work through this on Covet Chicago, and I’m finding it nearly impossible to distill all I want to say into a catchphrase or slogan. I will say that I love getting to know you, and my favorite blogs always have at least a small personal slant to them. Perhaps the best place to start is to define what you want out of your blog and work backwards.
No matter what you do, I’ll be cheering you on every step of the way.

All – thank you so much for your support! I can’t tell you how much it means to me. I’ll be spending a lot of time working through this but it’s nice to know I have good blog friends behind me.
