Friday’s Random Thoughts – April 9th

  • Since last week’s random thoughts were a success, I thought I’d try it again. Now, I’ll warn you my random thoughts can get scary sometimes. icon smile Fridays Random Thoughts April 9th Just so you all are not too worried, I did fix all my wireless problems last week. I was pretty proud of myself as my dad hadn’t been able to get wireless at my house for 4 years now and I did have someone with Network Experience try to help me and even he couldn’t do it. So that was my “pat on the back” moment last weekend. It was a lot of work and I ran into a lot of issues though. But I’m glad I’m done!
  • So I had a break from classes last week and started up again with this with…… DRAWING! Now we all know I have no artistic ability right? But so far it’s been pretty interesting and I actually kinda like it. I  keep hoping that my drawings are going to amaze me and I’ll be the next DaVinci but so far that hasn’t happened. icon wink Fridays Random Thoughts April 9th Both my mom and brothers are very artistic with painting and drawing. But I think that gene skipped me. icon smile Fridays Random Thoughts April 9th If you promise not to laugh, I’ll show you some of my drawings from this week. Promise? Okay. Here you go:

The first drawing, the hand, was my second assignment, and is suppose to be one continuous line. Other than some of the interior lines. That was my third and last attempt. And then the last three are the third assignment were I got to use charcoal and was suppose to be drawing the “outside” but quickly. So it’s an interesting class so far! I can’t wait to learn more.

  • Last night I signed up for the Nostalgic Musings Journaling E-class. It’s being put on by Hope Wallace Karney of Paper Relics and Besottment. It’s not to late to join since Anna from Be Heathly, Be Well, Be Inspired and I just joined last night! I’m trying to journal more as I struggle with some career and life issues. So I thought it would be a good class to get into. Also it’ll be a way for me to continue to get in touch with my creative side.
  • In Technology news, if you haven’t heard, Apple is finally coming out with multi-tasking on their newest operating system for the iPhone. ABOUT TIME! Of course it’s not for all applications but it is for music, GPS and some other apps. So I can finally listen to Pandora and check my email. Well I could if I had a supported iPhone. Sigh. I was planning on getting the newest iPhone when it comes out this summer anyways. But if you have an iPhone 3GS you will be able to do that in June. And they are also allowing us to put applications in folders, so there will be some organization and have custom backgrounds. So cool! I’m so excited! I saw around Thursday and read all the articles. I know. Geek. icon smile Fridays Random Thoughts April 9th BTW, the other features will be supported on the iPhone 3G, just not the multitasking.
  • I picked up another book this week. Haha. I told you it was a disease but it was off the list. It’s called: The pH Miracle: Balance Your Diet, Reclaim Your Health. So far its good. It talks a lot of about going on a totally raw diet. I don’t know if I can do that or not. It might be really good for me. I’ve started adding more vegetables into my diet as step 1 and I’ve borrowed a juicer from a friend. So that’s step 2. But the thought of giving up coffee and chocolate is really really really hard for me.  :-)
  • LASTLY and most EXCITING, check back in Monday as I will have my NEW HEADER and NEW BLOG DESIGN UP! I’m so EXCITED to show it to you!!! I’ll give you a hint – the header is PINK. icon wink Fridays Random Thoughts April 9th

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! What do you have planned? Not too much here. Relaxing and some tennis. Whatever you do, I wish you safety and fun.

Lori, I love your random thoughts! and as always thank you for including me in your post. And, I think your drawings are good and I am not just saying that. It is so much better than mine. Practice always makes perfect. I am going to purchase some items for our journaling class. I was looking at Hope’s supplies and the journal that I bought is spiral so back to Michael’s.

Lori – A few random comments to match your random thoughts. :-)
-Way to prove your geek cred!
-J’adore the second to last drawing.
-I am the WORST at journaling. But my blog is fairly personal, so perhaps it counts.
-You are so sweet to link to me. I was nervous about that post, so it’s a special treat to see you list it here.
-And, finally (longest comment ever), I CANNOT WAIT to see your site.

Oh my goodness, Lori, good for you for taking a creative class. I’ve so been itching to do that lately. I think it’s the season. Thank you for including me in your round-up. I think it’s funny you picked that post because I just rattled it off with no planning or anything. I guess those are the ones that come across best, sometimes.

I am a geek too – I was following the apple conference on a site with live feed. My husband and I have the 3G too and were planning to upgrade this summer as well. I cannot wait to hear what the new phone will have.

And I am so happy to have you in my journaling class.

Anna – Thanks! No problem. I love including others when I can. :-) I really do appreciate it. I still have a long way to go! I went to Barnes and Nobles to get the WaterColor Moleskin and of course they didn’t have it. So I had to order it. I hope it comes soon so I can start with the class!!!

Brigitte – Lol! I love random comments to match my random thoughts!! :-) See, I pull it out everynow and then. I try to protect you all from it. ;-) Thank you! I think that’s my favorite so far. So simple yet it turned out nice…I am too but I’m learning that I need to start writing things down in order to keep my head straight. If that makes sense. I internalize way too much. I think that does count. I glad you did post that… Well, it’s up! I hope you like it!!

Katie – Thanks! I’ve been trying to get out of the techy rut and maybe out of my rut, so it’s kinda helping. I feel more inspired! I even picked up some watercolors at Michaels this weekend and watercolor book to try and learn that too! Dangerous! ;-) .. Not a problem! Lol, sometimes those are. That one struck me the most because it hit so close to home to me. (No pun intended!) I’m one of those people too and I just thought it was amusing and I was glad that I wasn’t the only out there that did that. :-) Of course I’d be happy if I could sell my ONE townhouse in Atlanta and buy ONE bigger house here. Sigh. But that’s another story!

Hope – I missed the live feed! I did see that you were into IT on your blog and I thought that was interesting. I can’t wait either! I’ve been googling it at least once a week for the last several months to if there have been any rumours or release information or anything! Lol. It’s been bad. I’m just ready to upgrade off the 3G! Thank you! I’m really excited to be in your class! Now I wish my journal would arrive so I could start….
