Hello all,
Sorry it’s been so long. Life has been so crazy lately. I wish I could go into detail about it all but for various reasons I can’t. When I can, don’t worry I will tell you. The good news is, this is my last week of class for a few weeks! So I’ll have a little break.
Anyways, how was your weekend? Mine was pretty good. Very busy. Friday night we went to dinner with my best friend and her husband, went to the Symphony and then drove up to South Carolina. On Saturday we got up bright and early and drove to meet my husband’s family at the zoo. His sister, BIL, girls were in town from Wyoming. So it was nice to see them all. Of course I have pictures but I haven’t had time to upload them! Hopefully soon.
And then we went to spend a little time with my brother and sister-in-law and then back to Atlanta Saturday night. Phew!
The Symphony was wonderful Friday night and I wanted to share that with you. They played Mozart and then they had a Mezzo Soprano sing a piece written by PETER LIEBERSON: Neruda Songs. He wrote the music based on some love poems he discovered by Pablo Neruda and picked four he thought represented his relationship with his wife. They were just beautiful and I was so moved. It is really hard to pick a favorite of the four, but if I had to, it would be this one:
As typical Lori, I had to research his other poems once I got a chance. I found out that they came from Pablo Neruda’s book: 100 Love Sonnets. I’ve ordered it from Amazon and can’t wait to read it. Check out his poems and you’ll enjoy them!

Oh how romantic. I have heard of Pablo. I can’t remember where I read some of his works. I read too much. I will have to order that book from Amazon too! Thanks for sharing.

Ohh…thank you for sharing this today. I studied Neruda in college — in my Spanish classes! Beautiful!
I hope things quiet down for you soon. Unless, of course, you don’t want them to!

Piper – No problem.
I did, just busy! Lol, I had a feeling you might have.
I hope things slow down for you soon and sounds like you have a vacation coming up so that will be really nice!!!
Brigitte – That must have been awesome to study him. I received my book in the mail, so I’m having a hard time reading the English version, I keep trying to peep over and see if I still remember how to translate some words and I haven’t studied Spanish since High School and I wasn’t even good then! Lol. Well, lets just say that once things slow down, I should be in a happier place.
But then I’ll just find something else to keep my busy but it’ll be a better busy.
Anna – Isn’t it beautiful? The sad thing is that the musician who put it to music, let his wife sing the opening of this piece. Which I’m sure was just beautiful and had a lot more meaning. Okay, that wasn’t the sad thing.
The sad part was that she passed away a year after she sang it because of health issues.
So tragic…. If you buy it on Amazon, look at the ‘used’ or ‘barely used’. I got mine for $2 (not including shipping and handling)
