So one of the things I have been looking for in a house is a flat ceiling. It seems so simple but I’m tired of popcorn ceilings! So that is a requirement of my new place. Of course my Realtor keeps telling me that my husband can fix the ceilings but it’s just something I don’t thing would get done for awhile. One of the reasons I want a flat ceiling is so I can experiment with painting them. Does anyone else paint their ceilings? I think it would be nice! I mean look at these rooms!

so funny you mention painting ceilings because i never thought about that much…just paint it white right? until my friend whose house looks so great told me her secret…always paint the ceiling the lightest shade on the paint chip of the color you’re using! and i swear, it works…it makes it look really polished!

Painting the ceiling of my bedroom has been on my to-do list forever. The walls are cream – a bright room is nice to wake up in – so I’d like to put a robin’s egg shade on the ceiling. In my imagination til I get to it. There’s a show on one of the diy channels where the designer usually paints the ceiling….the name’s on the tip of my tongue.
My dad has always painted the ceiling the same color as the walls. I like Piper’s tip on painting the ceiling a color lighter. I need to remember that. Thanks for the tip, Piper!

I’m with you on the flat ceiling! I live in an old house and have plaster walls, which makes everything a bit uneven, so my remedy is to paint the ceilings! I love it!
