To iPad or not?

I’m sure everyone has seen the Apple iPad by now. I’ve always been a fan of the tablet PC. When I worked at the state (a long time ago), we got tablet PCs for our job. And I thought they were the coolest thing. They were great for our job because we were out on audits on a lot and they were easy to use to take notes on, etc. I was really pleased with them. On top of that, I am an Apple fan. I do own a MacBook (which I’m typing on now), an iPhone, and several versions of the iPod. In the last 24 hours I’ve read many articles about the iPad trying to figure out whether it’s something I’m going to purchase or not when it comes out in April. Honestly, I probably will. I had been thinking of purchasing a Kindle (prior to this coming out) and the iPad will beat the Kindle by a landslide. But at the same time, it does seem like a giant iPod. It’s very cool though at 1.5 lb and .5 inch thin. Can you imagine just throwing this in your purse to travel with? No more bulky computer. I need that space for more clothes! What are your thoughts on the iPad. BTW, I hate the name.

Full disclosure — I am a PC person. Although I own a few ipods and would die without my iphone. My reaction to this guy was, “meh.”

BUT, it has since been pointed out to me how the ipad is going to kill comcast, since it’s essentially a mobile tv. And I hate the comcast. So yay!

I understand. I was ‘meh’ when I first saw it and thought it was just a giant iPod but after reading about it more and more, I think it might be really cool. That sounds really cool – I’m all over the mobile tv part. :-) I’m not a comcast fan either!

Would it have killed them to test a name like iTab? iPad. Was there a single girl in the room??
